TAX Identity Theft

Tax Identify Theft: I have a non-client friend who is STILL waiting for their 2015 IRS refund due to tax identity theft! This reaffirms my professional belief that every individual should OWE taxes on 4/15 or have a VERY small refund! I can hear all your shock gasps, but wait…IF the IRS accepts an erroneous return it takes forever for them to fix it and issue you your legitimate refund. If you owe, who the heck cares how long the IRS takes to fix the problem! Now when I say “owe”, you need to be careful that owe doesn’t also result in penalties, too.
